Proclaiming the Good News of God’s Love

Proclaiming God’s Love

Ministry to the Homebound or Sick and their Caregivers:  There are so many who suffer or struggle with life.  Our society places premium values on productivity and social activity.  The Gospel, in contrast, places premium value on the love of neighbor, regardless of the neighbor’s visible contributions.  We treasure our opportunities to minister to the homebound, the sick, and their caregivers through home visits, prayer fellowship, and Eucharistic visitation.  If the struggles or suffering of sick, the homebound, and their caregivers touch your heart with Gospel concern, we welcome you.  If you know someone who is in need of home visits or prayer fellowship, please call the parish office to let us know.

Outreach Ministry:  Outreach Ministry seeks to be an instrument of God’s peace to a hurting world.  We look toward the needs of those about us, and we work together, striving to demonstrate God’s love through our actions.  We are continually identifying needs in the world about us, gathering goods and funds to meet those needs, and finding ways to alleviate the struggles of those about us.

Would you like to do the same?  Here are just a sampling of our current and recent Outreach Ministry projects:

Everyone is welcome to attend the next meeting of the Outreach Committee.

The Ministry of Christian Formation:  To work in Christian Formation is to help others come to know Jesus as God’s greatest gift to us.  To know Jesus as God’s greatest gift is to know and to live in the truth of God’s love.  Christian Formation happens through Worship, through prayer, through study, and through example.   The ministry of Christian Formation is always evolving at St. Mary’s – whether for our young Christians, for young adults, or for those “more seasoned.”  Please check our Events Calendar for our current and planned Christian Formation projects.   If you do not see something that fits your needs there, please call the office as it may be “in the works.”

Ministry to the Human Spirit through the Arts:  God has poured God’s own creative spirit into humanity.  “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”  (Pablo Picasso)  The Church has always understood that God touches the human spirit through the Arts.   That awareness underlies our community’s commitment to support and to promote the Arts through programs such as Sundays at Four.  Please check our Events Calendar for events which will minister to the human spirit through the Arts.)
